Free Tree Giveaway Saturday, May 10 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Stop by the Grand Army Plaza GreenMarket to adopt a free tree - part of MillionTreesNYC Month. Each tree adopted, planted and cared for by a New York City family or individual will be counted toward our goal of planting one million new trees throughout the City’s five boroughs by 2017. Metropolitan Opera Friday, June 20, 8 p.m. The Met's only outdoor concert this year is in Prospect Park! For one night only, two of opera’s biggest stars, soprano Angela Gheorghiu and tenor Roberto Alagna, will perform a program of classic arias together on the Long Meadow Ballfields, accompanied by the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Mother's Day in the Park Sunday, May 11

Prospect Park is the perfect Mother's Day destination, with lots to do for kids and their moms! Take a Discover Tour, rent a pedal boat, or tour the lake on our electric boat Independence at the Audubon Center. Treat mom to a spin on the Park’s famous 1912 Carousel. You're invited! Celebrate and support Prospect Park’s seven innovative playgrounds with music, cocktails, and a great silent auction at the Boathouse. This year’s event will have a Venetian theme. Celebrate the Park’s amazing, imaginative outdoor play spaces as the historic Lullwater is transformed into a romantic canal!

It's My Park! Day Saturday, May 17, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Lakeside Center Community Update Meeting Monday, May 19, 6:30 p.m.
