On June 28, nearly 4,200 people dressed in white flocked to the Peninsula in Prospect Park for the first PopUp Dinner Brooklyn presented by Acura. This flash dinner picnic featured a live music performance by Ben Folds.
Organized by Handmade Events in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance, the idea behind the PopUp Dinner was simple: thousands of guests played a role in creating an unforgettable evening under the stars in Prospect Park. Tables and chairs were provided, and guests brought table décor and inspired feasts to enjoy with friends and family. Everyone was encouraged to dress in white. In addition to Ben Folds, guests were treated to a live jazz performance and a DJ set and dancing. Participants were informed of the location just a few hours before the event, and a few hours following the event, there was no trace left behind.
All proceeds from the PopUp Dinner Brooklyn benefited the Prospect Park Alliance—raising over $40,000 for the ongoing care and maintenance of Prospect Park—just another reason to celebrate being part of this special evening.
We wanted to share with you our photo album from the evening, and also encourage you to check out Instagram, where many of you posted to #PopUpBrooklyn.
