Additional Information

Day-Of Contact Info: To contact us ON THE DAY OF YOUR TRIP and speak directly with the Educator on site please call the following numbers:
• Lefferts Historic House history programs: (347) 992-4732
• Prospect Park Audubon Center science programs: (718) 772-6091

Arrival: Please make every effort to arrive on time. Unfortunately we cannot extend the length of the visit to accommodate groups that arrive late; therefore late groups might not receive a complete program. The visit will have to conclude at the group’s previously scheduled ending time. If you expect to be late please call the above Day-Of contact number that applies to your destination.

Our public space is limited; if you arrive early please note that there is nowhere indoors to wait until your visit is scheduled to start.

Eating:
If you bring lunch, your class is welcomed to enjoy a picnic style lunch outdoors. Please note there is no place to eat lunch inside the Lefferts Historic House or the Prospect Park Audubon Center.

Restrooms: In order to maximize program time we suggest your students use the restroom before they leave school. Groups that arrive early can take advantage of the public restrooms that are a short walk (1 to 2 minutes) away from the Lefferts Historic House and the Audubon Center. Please be aware, there are no restrooms inside the Lefferts Historic House. There are very limited public restrooms inside the Audubon Center (one stall per restroom).

Additional Tips: Make sure your students are dressed appropriately for the weather – portions of our history and science programs take place outdoors.

Please ensure that there are an appropriate number of adult chaperones. We recommend one adult for every eight to ten students.

We provide these guidelines in order to make your visit to Prospect Park an enjoyable, informative, quality educational experience. Please feel free to call or email us with any questions or concerns.
