Professional Development for Teachers

The Park’s Education Department offers a variety of professional development opportunities, supporting social studies, science, and interdisciplinary curricula. Our programs provide teachers with the tools to make standards-based learning fun and memorable.

Prospect Park educators will happily tailor their expertise to your specific needs. Workshops can be structured as one-hour drop-ins, half-day, one-day, or one-week (summer) sessions.

Teachers will learn:
• How to conduct engaging science investigations in the Park, schoolyard, or classroom
• How to use nature, primary sources, and historic artifacts to make any lesson plan come alive
• Team-building activities that help develop a positive school culture and engage students in the classroom
