Students visiting Lefferts Historic House experience history first-hand, using a variety of investigative methods to explore a working garden; examine historic artifacts, toys, tools, clothing, and documents; and view period rooms and exhibits. Guided by dedicated Park educators, students use their senses to experience history and leave the Park inspired to delve deeper.
Closely aligned with social studies and language arts performance standards, school programs at Lefferts use object-based learning techniques to help students relate to history. At Lefferts Historic House, Brooklyn’s rural past comes alive through hands-on work and play. Take your class on a journey through time!
