| Vanished Prospect Park
Prospect Park’s history is filled with many fascinating stories. The story behind the Park’s lost structures, places and pastimes is one of its most intriguing. This exhibit will introduce you to some of the most important pieces of Prospect Park’s lost past, including images of the structures that were conceived for the Park but never built.
Today, Prospect Park is recreating history in unique ways. Historic photographs from the Alliance’s Archives are proving a valuable source of inspiration for designers creating new structures, as well as those seeking to reconstruct lost buildings and landscapes. Remove yourself from the present as you explore "Vanished". This important story of Prospect Park’s past may soon be part of its future.
This is the online version of a physical exhibit which took place inside the Grand Army Plaza arch. It was sponsored by the Independence Community Foundation with additional support from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and former City Council Member Ken Fisher.
