Ice Skating Parties FAQ

How do we get to the party room?
The room has a private entrance on the lakeside so that the guests need not wait on line. There is a sign at the main entrance to the rink that directs them to the side entrance. When you arrive, you should go to the front entrance, introduce yourself and ask to see the manager so that you may gain access to the party room you have reserved. You may arrive up to 15 minutes before the contractual time.

How do I arrange for rental skates?
You will be sent a form with your contract. Ask guests to r.s.v.p. with their shoe sizes. You may fax this list to the rink at the number on the form at least 24 hours before the event and our staff will try to have the skates ready for your party. Otherwise, simply give it to our staff when you arrive. The skates will be brought to you in the party room so that you and your guests do not have to wait in line.

When do we skate?
You have the party room for two hours. Ice time is typically one hour and thirty minutes due to ice conditioning. Under certain weather conditions skating time may be interrupted in order to repair the ice.

When do my guests eat?
That's up to you. Just be sure to let the Alliance staff member know when you'd like to be served. Please note that the 4:30 p.m. party on Sundays should plan on having their food at 6 p.m. because the ice closes at 6 p.m. on Sundays.

May we bring a cake?
You may bring a birthday cake or other simple snacks. Don't forget a knife, server and candles.

Are paper goods provided?
We provide paper goods for the food. Beverage is included in the party. You might bring extra plates, forks, etc. for the cake. The beverage is fountain soda. We serve coca-cola products and it is served in pitchers with plastic cups.

Can we decorate?
The party room is situated at Kate's Corner inside the skating rink. It is glass enclosed with a view of both the lake and the rink. The 6 foot tables in the room have a bright yellow Formica covering. The room really doesn't need additional decorations or even tablecloths. If you want to provide additional decorations, go right ahead. Just remember, you are responsible for taking down any decorations during your scheduled party time.

What if I want a longer party?
We only offer overtime on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The fee for a third hour is $125.00. We cannot guarantee that the full hour will be available for skating due to ice maintenance.
