BRING YOUR PICNIC TO THE PARK, BUT REMEMBER TO CLEAN UP AFTER!
HOW TO DISPOSE OF CHARCOAL
1. Deposit coals in Hot Coal Bins, or
2. Extinguish coals with water and wrap coals in foil. Put wrapped coals in
a dumpster, or leave them in or next to a trash can

We welcome barbecuing and picnicking at the Park, but please adhere to the following guidelines:

Barbecuing is only permitted in designated areas

Open fires, ground fires, and propane use are prohibited

Tents and canopies are not permitted
-
Keep your grill at least 10 feet away from trees and overhead branches

Fires must be contained in grills that are raised at least two feet above the ground

Do not use trash barrels or picnic tables as grill stands

Please do not move picnic tables

Groups of more than 20 people require a permit. Applications must be received at least 30 days in advance of your event. Please call (718) 965-8944 for permit information or click on the Permits page

See the Park map for designated picnic and barbecue areas. Do not picnic on paths, in parking lots, on ballfields, directly under trees or shelters, in playgrounds or in Park facilities

The Park Drive is closed to vehicles at all times except certain weekday rush hours. Vehicles may be unloaded at the Litchfield Villa parking lot.
