Bicycling

The 3.35 mile Park Drive attracts cyclists of all levels and abilities. Please use the middle lane (you can use the right lane to pass) and remember to travel in a counter-clockwise direction. Bicycling is permitted only on the Park Drives.  Please see Safety and Rules for Drive hours.

Please remember that the rules of the road are in effect regardless of the hours cars are allowed on Park drives. All bicyclists must stop at red lights. Pedestrians have the right of way.

Find a safe bike route to and from Prospect Park via the Ride the City interactive map tool.

Cyclists on the East Drive

Annual racing events like the NYC Spring Bicycle Racing Series and the New York Cycling Series take place in Prospect Park and other sites around the City. For information on bicycling events, see our Calendar or contact the sponsoring organization.
