Prospect Park has a long tradition as the home field for various local football organizations. With partial funding from the National Football League, the Park’s state-of-the-art artificial turf football field at the Parade Ground opened in 2002.

The Brooklyn Skyhawks are the primary club using the Parade Ground field; they are a 30-year-old organization with nearly 200 members and 40 coaches organized into divisions accommodating all ages and abilities. All organized sporting events in the Park require a permit. Please contact the permit office at least 30 days in advance to confirm availability. The football field is located at the Parade Ground, on Coney Island Avenue, between Parkside and Caton Avenues. See the Parade Ground page for directions.
