The Carousel is a great place for kids – and adults! Take an old-fashioned ride back in time to the golden age of carnival excitement, right in Brooklyn’s landmark Prospect Park. The Carousel only costs $2.00 to ride. It is also a popular place for birthday celebrations and corporate events.

Hours

The Carousel will reopen on Saturday, March 31, 2012.

$2.00 per ride, $9 for a book of 5 tickets,  for all ages. 
Join the Prospect Park Alliance at the $100 level and your family (up to 4 people) will receive unlimited rides on the Carousel for a full year!

As of July 19, 2009 Prospect Park will no longer accept the New York Pass or Brooklyn Pass for Park attractions and concessions. 

About

Located in the Park’s "Children’s Corner," the Carousel features 53 magnificently carved horses, a lion, a giraffe, a deer, and two dragon-pulled chariots. Carved in 1912 by Charles Carmel, one of the foremost carousel designers of the time, and restored by the Prospect Park Alliance in 1990, the Carousel promises that classic summertime amusement will be available for generations of fun. In addition, the Prospect Park Carousel is one of the few in the world that is wheelchair accessible.

While at the Carousel grab an ice cream, popcorn or cold beverage from the Pony Express snack bar.

Party Rentals

School & Summer Camp Groups

School groups and summer camp groups are also welcome at the Carousel. Sessions are available Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Group prices start at $225, which includes the $100 opening fee and $125 for the first hour of carousel use. Each additional hour costs $125.
 
To reserve your group time at the Carousel, complete and return the reservation form with the non-refundable booking fee ($100). Space is limited and trips will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis – make your reservations early so we may accommodate your date and time preferences!

• From Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges: Take Flatbush Avenue to Grand Army Plaza, continue on Flatbush until Empire Boulevard.
• From BQE: Take the BQE to the Prospect Expressway, 10th Ave. exit. Make a left on 11th Avenue. Make a right on Prospect Park Southwest to Park Circle. From the Circle, follow Parkside Avenue. Make a left on Ocean Avenue. to Empire Boulevard.
