| Ravine
The restored Ravine is at the heart of Prospect Park’s natural features. The area is defined by a steep narrow gorge lined with the diverse trees and foliage of Brooklyn’s only forest. The Ravine district features the Park’s most rugged terrain, and the cool whisper of flowing water is never far away. Join us for a weekend guided nature tour, or explore the area on your own to experience the feeling of hiking through the Adirondack Mountains - right in the middle of Brooklyn!

Still recovering from decades of overuse that caused soil compaction and erosion, the Ravine and surrounding woodlands have been undergoing successful restorations since 1996. The Prospect Park Alliance’s Woodlands Campaign and the ongoing restorations of the watercourse and the Park’s natural areas have preserved this treasure for a new generation of Park users.
