Prospect Park is home to many types of engaging volunteer opportunities. Weekly events occur regularly, with the exception of holidays and holiday weekends. Please read below for details regarding each event.

East Side Revival
Mondays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The East Side Revival helps beautify two of the Park’s most elegant locations: the Vale of Cashmere and the Rose Garden.

Tuesday Youth Corps

Tuesday Youth Corps is a new chance for Brooklyn teens to volunteer in Prospect Park with other teenagers. Each week, Prospect Park staff will lead the volunteer team to take on a unique, challenging project in the Park, ranging from painting benches to landscaping work such as invasive plant removal, mulching, weeding, path edging and litter removal. By working collaboratively on varied jobs, the teen volunteers will also develop personal and professional skills.

Wednesdays, 10 a.m. –1 p.m.
The Wednesday Corps volunteers are dedicated to keeping the southeast section of the Park beautiful through a variety of horticulture and clean-up tasks. Work locations include the lakeshore, the Audubon Center, and Lefferts Historic House.

Thursdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The Thursday Corps volunteers perform a multitude of different projects throughout Prospect Park as needed. The event takes place at a different location every week helping in a variety of landscape and horticultural projects.

The Weekend Woodland Corps is a team of volunteers committed to the continued restoration and revitalization of Prospect Park’s 250 acres of forest.

Help the environment in your community. Typical tasks include: sprucing up gardens; clearing fence lines; painting fences & benches; weeding; spreading mulch; sweeping and clearing pathways; and removing trash.

Join your neighbors from Prospect Heights and Park Slope for our monthly clean-up day in the Plaza Street Berms. Adults and supervised children are welcome.

Litter Patrol Volunteer
If you are looking for an opportunity with more flexibility, help keep the Park litter-free! Gloves, garbage bags, and grabbers provided. All volunteers must pre-arrange a date and time by calling (718) 287-3400.
Meet at the Eastwood Building
Saturdays & Sundays, 2 – 3 p.m.
Spend time outside enjoying nature while helping to keep the Park clean. Families can take a tour of the Park and its waterways and help keep it clean along the way. Gloves, garbage bags and trash grabbers will be provided.
