Suspended: Nature Exploration

COVID-19 UPDATE: Prospect Park Alliance is working closely with NYC Parks and other city agencies to monitor developments related to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety and well-being of our staff, patrons and entire community is our top priority. As part of this effort, Prospect Park Alliance is postponing Nature Exploration until further notice. However, Prospect Park Alliance invites families to enjoy nature fun on solo explorations in the park or from the comfort of home on our Virtual Prospect Park webpage.

Join the Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.

  • Discovery Pack, 10 am–12 pm: Come explore nature on your own with our Discovery Packs, a backpack filled with nature activities and exploration tools, perfect for families and kids to interact with the park in a whole new way.

In this citizen science activity Audubon staff will guide groups to remove litter and record the findings. Fun for all ages and all materials are provided. This program leaves promptly at 12 pm.

Suspended: Pop-Up Lefferts: Field Days

COVID-19 Update: Due to the pandemic, Prospect Park Alliance has suspended its public programming in the park. Visit our Virtual Prospect Park page for activities presented by our educators that can be enjoyed from the comfort of home, or on solo explorations of the park.

While Lefferts Historic House undergoes a two-year restoration, join Prospect Park Alliance on the road, as your favorite activities “pop up” at locations throughout Prospect Park and also in the surrounding communities. In May, grab your picnic blankets and join Prospect Park Alliance for field day fun. Try your hand at a beanbag toss, badminton and more. For those more into hustle than bustle, we’ll also have cards, dice and dominos.
