Community Volunteer Groups - Prospect Park Alliance

Community Groups

Prospect Park Alliance provides opportunities for community groups to lend a hand and get involved in Brooklyn's Backyard.

COVID-19 Update: Due to the city's response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Prospect Park Alliance requires volunteer groups to adhere to the following safety guidelines:

  • Groups of adults and adult supervised youth are limited to a maximum of 15 participants
  • Please do not come to the park if you are sick; group leaders should insure that no group members are sick before arrival
  • Group members must wear masks at all times (we will provide masks but you are welcome to bring your own)
  • Group members must practice social distancing regulations and remain at least 6 feet apart from each other
  • Participants should bring their own water and refreshments

Group leaders will be asked to:

  • Review and agree to an Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability and COVID-19 Agreement terms
  • Within 24-hours of the start time of your event, complete a confidential online COVID-19 Health Assessment Questionnaire (a paper version will also be available). NOTE: This questionnaire is only required for group leaders, not all volunteers from the group.
  • Arrive 20 minutes before the event’s official start time
  • Greet volunteers from your group and ensure that they sign-in upon arrival
  • Assist with volunteer compliance with COVID-19 safety measures, including mask compliance, social distancing and using hand sanitizer (safety supplies will be provided by Prospect Park Alliance)
