Students and Youth Groups

Student and youth groups can learn a great deal while volunteering in Prospect Park. We offer different opportunities for different age groups. To bring a group of volunteers to the Park, please fill out our group volunteer inquiry form. Please indicate if you are interested in a weekday opportunity.

Teen Groups
We are happy to host and supervise work projects for groups of youth ages 14–17 during our weekend community events. We also offer limited weekday opportunities.

Elementary School Groups
For children in grades K-5, we offer the following opportunities:

  • Weekend Junior Volunteer Corps:  On select weekends in April and November, we welcome families and youth groups under 13 years of age to come with their guardians and join us for a day of service as we spruce up the Park.
  • Weekday Exclusive Group Events: For groups with 30+ participants, we can arrange a 2–3 hour weekday program in April and November only.
  • Service Learning Program: For 1st and 2nd graders, we offer a Service Learning Program for a fee of $75 per group for up to 25 children. In this weekday program, children learn the importance of park stewardship firsthand by learning about tree structure, compaction and mulching.

Please note, all organized groups of minors must be accompanied by chaperones at a ratio of 1:5.
