Court and Tennis Center Maintainer

Founded in 1987, Prospect Park Alliance is the non-profit organization that sustains, restores and advances Prospect Park, "Brooklyn's Backyard," in partnership with the City. The Alliance provides critical staff and resources that keep the Park green and vibrant for the diverse communities that call Brooklyn home.

Prospect Park Alliance seeks a highly skilled and self motivated Court and Tennis Center Maintainer for the Prospect Park Tennis Center to ensure the maintenance of the building and tennis courts. Reliability and a strong work ethic combined with great communication skills are a must, as well as familiarity with cleaning equipment and procedures.  This position reports directly to the Director of Prospect Park Tennis Center and the Senior Maintainer.

Responsibilities:

  • Keeping the clubhouse neat and clean at all times in accordance with maintenance checklist. 
  • Making sure that the courts are kept clean and in excellent playing condition at all times. Including watering the courts on assigned times.
  • Assist with court maintenance as needed including adding clay and roll drying of hard courts.
  • Requesting supplies in advance when needed.
  • Clearing snow from bubble area and sidewalks.
  • Some lifting of heavy objects such as bags of clay is required.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, such as bags of clay, is required.
  • Familiarity with day to day cleaning products.

Schedule:

The Court and Tennis Center Maintainer position is Full time, year round position. This position requires a flexible schedule that includes working early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
