Development Assistant-Membership

Be part of the driving force that sustains Prospect Park, Brooklyn's flagship park. The Prospect Park Alliance, the nonprofit that restores and advances the Park, seeks a full-time Development Assistant-Membership.

Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Development Assistant will be the primary point of contact for the Alliance’s almost 4,000 member households. Responsible for processing contributions to the Alliance as well as assisting the Individual Giving Manager in the operations of the Membership program, this position is a prime opportunity to learn the basics of fundraising as part of a dynamic and successful development team that raises nearly $4 million annually.

Responsibilities

Gift Processing & Data Entry

  • Enter gifts and pledges into donor database (more than 5,000 gifts annually)
  • Process credit card contributions
  • Maintain the health of the donor database
  • Perform monthly invoice and donation reconciliations

Membership Program Assistance & Member Services

  • Act as the primary customer service representative for the Membership program
  • Manage monthly renewal and membership fulfillment processes
  • Support the planning and execution of Membership program events
  • Assist with regular member emails and mailings

Desired Qualifications:

  • Accuracy, efficiency, organization, and attention to detail are vital
  • Data entry experience, especially with nonprofits, experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising database software, and familiarity with fundraising and basic accounting principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends, as needed
  • A driver's license valid in the state of New York and the ability and willingness to drive Park vehicles
  • Bachelor’s degree
