Graphic Designer (Part Time)

Make a difference in Brooklyn’s Backyard. Prospect Park Alliance is seeking a part-time graphic designer to design a wide variety of digital and print materials for the organization. Reporting to the Creative Director, the graphic designer will be part of a lively, five-person Marketing + Communications team, and plays a key role in designing a variety of print and digital materials that promote and support the work of Prospect Park Alliance. The position also manages the organization's photo database.

  • Design print materials (postcards, invitations, signage, brochures, flyers and ads) and digital assets (email artwork, website artwork and templates, social media and digital ads) for Alliance fundraising, concessions, volunteer, education and public programs.  
  • Working within the organization's brand guidelines, collaborates with colleagues on concepts for design collateral and new program assets.
  • Produce final artwork and oversee production for printed material, digital assets and signage, working with outside vendors and an in-house sign shop.
  • Create and produce environmental graphics for use in the park.
  • Oversee photo database, editing photo shoots and supervising photo database intern.

Desired Qualifications:  

  • Experience working in a graphic design capacity; in-house experience a plus
  • Portfolio demonstrating expertise in both print and digital design
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels and across departments
  • Excellent organizational skills, including strong attention to detail and ability to conduct and coordinate multiple tasks under pressure and within deadlines
  • Familiarity with managing projects and budgets
  • Comfortable in a Mac environment
  • Experience resizing and retouching photos in Adobe Photoshop for both print and digital assets
  • Competent designing in Adobe InDesign and/or Adobe Illustrator
  • Basic Word and PowerPoint skills

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week; the schedule is flexible during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm). 

Accrual and use of sick time, as well as Paid Family Leave time (in accordance with New York City law).
