The Prospect Park Alliance is a non-profit organization that sustains, restores and advances Prospect Park for the benefit of diverse communities, in partnership with the City of New York. Prospect Park is Brooklyn's flagship park and a National Historic Landmark, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, creators of Central Park. The Alliance cares for the natural environment, preserves historic design and serves the community by providing public programming and Park amenities for the Park, which receives more than 10 million visits each year. Recently, the Alliance completed Lakeside, the ambitious project in Prospect Park since its creation. The 26-acre redesign of the southeast corner of the Park features the LeFrak Center at Lakeside, which provides seasonal biking, boating, skating, water play and a café.
The Prospect Park Alliance is currently seeking a Groundskeeper II to perform tasks in support of building, facility, landscape, grounds and equipment maintenance in various outdoor weather conditions. This candidate will reports to the Park Supervisor at the Parade Ground.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This job offers $14.50 per hour for a 40-hour work week. The weekly schedule will vary and weekends and evenings are required.
