Seasonal Projects Coordinator - Prospect Park Alliance

Seasonal Projects Coordinator

Prospect Park is Brooklyn’s 585-acre historic flagship park, designed by the famed Olmsted and Vaux. It is the home of Brooklyn’s only lake and forest, with nature trails, numerous recreational activities, public educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and the first urban Audubon Center.

Prospect Park seeks two (2) experienced Project Coordinators to collaborate with our motivated Volunteer Office.  The Project Coordinators will assist with all aspects of our volunteer program including: creating safe outdoor volunteer activities with 10-400 diverse participants of all ages, community outreach, communicating with other Parks staff, and performing administrative duties.

The Prospect Park Volunteer Department works with approximately 3,000 volunteers who give over 18,000 hours annually. We promote community engagement and a sense of ownership by cultivating stewardship and public awareness of Prospect Park. The Volunteer Department hosts ongoing weekday and weekend activities and coordinates volunteer events with individuals as well as community, corporate, and youth groups.  In addition to pitching with outdoor projects, our volunteers collaborate with staff and assist with educational programs, special events, program development and administrative work.
