Reimagine Prospect Park: Vale Restoration
Transforming the Prospect Park Vale into a place for all of Brooklyn’s diverse communities.
Through funding from the City, Prospect Park Alliance is transforming key landscapes in the Vale, the 27 acres in the northeast corner of Prospect Park. The area has recently benefited from the restoration of the Flatbush Avenue Park Perimeter and creation of two new park entrances, a major restoration of the Vale woodlands, as well as path and lighting improvements to make this area of the park more accessible to the public.
To shape the vision for these restored landscapes, Prospect Park Alliance, the non-profit organization that cares for the park in partnership with the City, collaborated with Hester Street in an intensive, two-year community outreach process. See the results of this community outreach in our report.
The Alliance is now embarking on the design of these landscapes, and has re-engaged the community for additional feedback and support.
