Get to Know New Staff: Winter 2024
Get to know the new staff members that have recently joined the Prospect Park Alliance team! Read below to learn more about Mimi, Audrey, Andrew, Maggie, Jason and Ellie and keep an eye out to say hello to them throughout the park.
Mimi Batts, Public Programs Coordinator, Lefferts House
What is something you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I like to watch classical movies and Anime with my grandma.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite film at the moment is Origin Directed by Ava DuVernay, and my favorite book at the moment is Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
In my new role I am most looking forward to creating exciting and enriching programs for our young visitors at the Lefferts Historic House.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
I love to try the amazing food from various vendors in the park during the Smorgasburg season.
Audrey Hinkson, Front Desk Assistant, Tennis Center
What is something you like to do in your free time?
There are lots of things that I love doing in my spare time such as sightseeing, reading, cooking and caring for others who need some attention.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
I have so many favorite songs, but the one that touches my heart is The Goodness of God, and my favorite band is The Gaither Vocal Band. Their music gives me peace and joy and makes me feel like I can move mountains. My favorite movies are Ms Doubtfire and The Sound of Music. My favorite book is Broken on the Front Row by Sandi Patty.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am most excited in seeing how Prospect Park Alliance works and how I can contribute to the Alliance’s success.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
I was a part of an exercise group. We would go to Prospect Park early every Saturday morning in the summer. We would exercise and then walk through the park, chatting and laughing at how tough our week was. We just let it all out as we inhale and exhale the freshness of the morning breeze. I also love the summer concerts and picnics.
Andrew Robertson, Construction Supervisor, D+C
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I love to make music, drawing inspiration from a variety of producers.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite music artists are Frank Ocean, Rodriguez and Future. Regarding TV shows, my all time favorite is It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m most looking forward to dog watching on my way into work.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
I do have an affinity for well-maintained, dry, healthy grass, so there’s a large plot of land here that suits me quite well, and allows for ample frolicking.
Maggie Thompson, Development Coordinator, Development
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I’ve recently taken up hand embroidery, and enjoy teaching myself new stitches in my free time.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite show at the moment is Lupin, which I highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t seen it!
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am most looking forward to connecting with the members and communities that support the Alliance.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
My favorite thing to do in the park is picnic in the Long Meadow in the summer, but when it’s too cold for that I enjoy walking through the meadow in the morning during off leash hours to see all the dogs at play.

What is something you like to do in your free time?
Relaxing with my family and doing personal research to widen my knowledge of the world.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite musician is Vybz Kartel.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Showing that I’m a great asset and exceptional staff.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
I like to go by the Lake and watch the birds have a blast.
Ellie Watts, Marketing + Communications Coordinator, C+ER
What is something you like to do in your free time?
Read or explore the city and new food with friends.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
Favorite book is Babel by R.F. Kuang. Favorite artist is Olivia Dean.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Getting to know everyone at the Alliance and finding new ways to bring people of any background to the park
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
Reading or picnics on the grass in the Nethermead. If I get to pet a dog too, that is the perfect day!
