Angelique Kidjo’s Celia Cruz Tribute with Pedrito Martinez

Friday, July 29 , 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm, 2016

Angelique Kidjo performs at the Bandshell as part of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, presented in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance. For the latest information, including weather updates, set times, seating configurations, and FAQs, please visit the BRIC website.

The Béninoise superstar and Brooklynite Angelique Kidjo, “Africa’s premier diva,” (Time Magazine) dives headlong into the music of the Queen of Salsa in this unforgettable event, which features guest musicians like the outstanding Cuban percussionist Pedrito Martinez. “The power of Kidjo’s unflappable voice, the range of her emotional expression, the stellar, genre-bending musicians who back her, and the infectious, activist energy that courses through her songs all transcend any native tongue.” (NPR)

Gates open an hour before the performance unless otherwise noted, and all performances are rain or shine.
