A photo testament to the individuals, couples, families, friends, and even canines, that make up the vibrant landscape of Prospect Park. Virginia L. S. Freire is a fine art portrait artist and visual storyteller. Her boutique portrait studio specializes in creating artful portraits telling extraordinary stories that will endure over generations. She is a Brooklyn native with a home-based studio in Prospect Heights where she lives with her husband and two children in the brownstone where she grew up just blocks from Prospect Park. Join the Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation. Discovery Pack, 10 am–12 pm, Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our Discovery Packs,ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families. Animal Encounter, 11 am–12 pm, Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 11 am. Nature’s Helpers, 12–1 pm, Do your part to keep Prospect Park healthy by cleaning up the lakeshore. In this citizen science activity, Audubon staff will guide groups to remove litter and record the findings. Fun for all ages and all materials are provided. This program leaves promptly at 12 pm. |

Enjoy boo-gie down tunes, ghastly face painting, ghoulish balloon twists, wicked nail art and more spooky activities for ghosts and goblins at this second annual after party! ____________________________________________________________________ Prospect Park Alliance invites all local ghosts and ghouls to the 39th Annual Halloween Haunted Walk and Fair! This much-anticipated annual event brings thousands of kids and families for free, ghastly fun to Prospect Park. Encounter zombies, werewolves, witches and other Halloween spirits on a haunted walk through the woodland Lookout Hill, ideal for families with children ages 7-12. All ages can enjoy a festive Halloween Fair on the Nethermead, featuring family-friendly activities, as well as sweet and savory treats from some of the city’s top food trucks.
