Nature at Night: Family Edition

Join Prospect Park Alliance for an evening stroll to see, hear and learn about the mysterious urban wildlife in Prospect Park. In this two hour program we will have a special behind the scenes look at our animal collection at the boathouse then explore the park with an expert local naturalist. Along the way we might see bats, raccoons, insects, birds and amphibians. This is an all ages event. $10 per person or $35 for a family of four. Become a Prospect Park Alliance Family Supporter Member or above for free admission to this event. |

The Blues Project featuring Dorrance Dance with Toshi Reagon & BIGlovely will take place at the Bandshell as part of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, presented in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance. This joyful and explosive collision of dance and music solidified Michelle Dorrance’s reputation as “one of the most imaginative tap choreographers working today.” (The New Yorker) The Blues Project brings together Dorrance’s exceptional company with the elemental musical force that is Toshi Reagon & BIGLovely to reveal “a deep merging of forms: As Ms. Reagon’s music envelops the dancing, the dancing seeps through to the last chord and sometimes even beyond it.” (The New York Times) Gates open an hour before the performance unless otherwise noted, and all performances are rain or shine. The Means of a Ready Escape: Brooklyn’s Prospect Park

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Prospect Park, Brooklyn Historical Society and Prospect Park Alliance present an exhibition that celebrates the founding vision of the Park, traces its social and historical trajectories, and examines the important role that Prospect Park has played as “Brooklyn’s Backyard” for 150 years.
