Bandshell

Anoushka Shankar + My Brightest Diamond

Friday, July 20 , 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm, 2018

Anoushka Shankar and My Brightest Diamond will perform at the Bandshell as part of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, presented in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance.

Melding Indian classical raga with other world music influences and electronica beats in her new project Land of Gold, the sitar master Anoushka Shankar creates a sound “whose shimmering textures seem to offer a hotline to the divine,” (The Australian) honoring tradition while boldly embracing the future. The indie experimentalist Shara Nova, who as My Brightest Diamond makes music that “feels simultaneously micro-orchestrated and entirely, ecstatically spontaneous,” (NPR) brings a brand new lineup to the Bandshell in advance of a new record out this fall.

Gates open an hour before the performance unless otherwise noted, and all performances are rain or shine. For the latest information, including weather updates, set times, seating configurations, and FAQs, please visit the BRIC website.
