Presidents Week in Prospect Park

Wednesday, February 20 , 12 pm – 4 pm, 2019

Join Prospect Park Alliance during Presidents Week, from February 18–22, for family-friendly programs at Lefferts Historic House and the Prospect Park Audubon Center.

Wild in Winter, 12–4 pm
Prospect Park Audubon Center, Free

Bundle up and find out what your favorite Prospect Park animals are doing this winter. Join Alliance naturalists for the Great Backyard Bird Count, a nation-wide conservation effort established in 1900 and much more!
Discovery Pack, 12–3 pm: Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our Discovery Packs, ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families.
Winter Habitat Building, 12-3 pm: Have you wondered what our park animals do in the winter? Come learn about what our local animals do in winter and help build a life sized structure inside the Boathouse.
Suet Making, 1 pm: Suet is a great food for birds in the winter when they need more calories to maintain their body heat and energy levels. We will be making suet that you can take home and hang in your backyard!
Great Backyard Bird Count, 2 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in this fun, nation-wide Citizen Science project.  Each checklist submitted helps researchers learn more about the health of birds and how to best protect them!
Animal Encounter, 3 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 3 pm.

Coming in from the Cold, 1–3 pm
