Nature Exploration

Saturday, April 27 , 10 am – 1 pm

Join Prospect Park Alliance every Saturday + Sunday through June for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.

Discovery Pack, 10 am–12 pm: Come explore nature on your own with our Discovery Packs, a backpack filled with nature activities and exploration tools, perfect for families and kids to interact with the park in a whole new way!
Animal Encounter, 11 am–12 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 11 am.
Nature’s Helpers, 12–1 pm: Help do your part to keep Prospect Park healthy by cleaning up the lakeshore. In this citizen science activity Audubon staff will guide groups to remove litter and record the findings. Fun for all ages and all materials are provided. This program leaves promptly at 12 pm.

Signs of Spring

Saturday, April 27 , 10 am – 4 pm

Signs of Spring are everywhere as animals at the zoo and your own backyard wake up from their winter sleep. Join us every weekend in April to celebrate spring, try out cool activities and science experiments, and learn how to be an urban scientist. Adventure awaits every weekend throughout the zoo!

Intro to Birdwatching

Saturday, April 27 , 12 pm – 1 pm

Look! Up in the sky, it’s a bird! But what kind of bird is it? Join Prospect Park Alliance and the Brooklyn Bird Club every Saturday through June to take a tour and learn about the magnificent array of birds that call Prospect Park home. Please note this tour leaves promptly at 12 pm from outside the Audubon Center.

Lefferts Historic House

Wash Day

Saturday, April 27 , 2 pm – 4 pm

Join Prospect Park Alliance on Saturdays + Sundays, April 13–28 at the Lefferts Historic House. Help us get the dirt out of our 19th century reproduction clothing the non-electric way, using washboards, bar soap and water warmed on an open fire.

Tours + Trails

Saturday, April 27 , 10 am – 12 pm

Prospect Park Alliance is pleased to offer exclusive, behind-the-scenes tours of the park for members at the $250 Naturalist level and above. Members will hear our experts talk about the fascinating history of the park and what the Alliance is doing for its future. Past tours have included a tree climbing demonstration with Alliance arborists and a walk through the Ravine with our Vice President of Capital and Landscape Management.
