POSTPONED—Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Parade

Sunday, March 15 , 1 pm – 3 pm, 2020
2020-03-15T00:00:00-04:00
11225, NY, Brooklyn

NOTICE: This event has been postponed. Please read a message from the Brooklyn Irish American Parade Committee below:

"Regretfully, the Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Parade, scheduled for this Sunday, March 15th, 2020 in Park Slope will be postponed. Postponing our parade was not a decision we made lightly. The Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Parade has been a tradition for many families, businesses, and organizations for the past 45 years.  The Parade committee made the difficult decision after the rapid developments that have occurred during the past 24 hours. Our Committee is going to talk and work with community leaders and our Parade supporters about rescheduling our Parade in the future.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anyone but we feel that the most responsible thing for the safety and well-being of everyone is to postpone the parade. May everyone have a Blessed St. Patrick’s Day!"

Head to South Slope for this festive St. Patrick's Day parade! The parade runs from Prospect Park West and 15th Street down to 7th Avenue and Garfield Place then back over to Prospect Park West and the starting line.

The Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Parade exists to honor the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick, to remember the Battle of Brooklyn, and to make the general public and Irish American Community more aware of Irish culture, heritage and Irish Americans’ vast contributions to the civic, public and religious life of the nation. This year, organizers are honoring NYC Parks Brooklyn Borough President Martin Maher as the Parade Grand Marshal.

The parade will assemble at noon on Prospect Park West between 9th and 15th Streets. The Rededication Ceremony to the heroes and victims of 9/11–World Trade Center will be at 12:30 pm. Parade step off is at 1 pm. The Reviewing Stand will be at Bartel-Pritchard Square, at Prospect Park West and 14th Street.
