COVID-19 UPDATE: Prospect Park Alliance is working closely with NYC Parks and other city agencies to monitor developments related to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety and well-being of our staff, patrons and entire community is our top priority. As part of this effort, Prospect Park Alliance is canceling Spring Break programs in Prospect Park. However, we invite families to learn more about the park, and enjoy nature activities from our Virtual Prospect Park webpage.
Enjoy your Spring Break with Prospect Park Alliance, April 13–17. Visit the park for family-friendly activities at Lefferts Historic House, Carousel and Tennis Center.
Nature Exploration
Prospect Park Audubon Center
Monday–Friday: 12–4 pm
Join Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.
- Discovery Pack, 12–3 pm: Come explore nature on your own with our Discovery Packs, a backpack filled with nature activities and exploration tools, perfect for families and kids to interact with the park in a whole new way!
- Animal Encounter, 2–3 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 2 pm. Animal Encounters is made possible with generous support from Macy’s, Inc.
- Family Bird Walk, 3–4 pm: Prospect Park is a stopping point for hundreds of bird species each year! Join us as we search for these amazing creatures and other nature around the park. Binoculars and bird guides are provided. This program leaves promptly at 3 pm.
Carousel Rides, 12–5 pm
Children’s Corner, $2.50 per ride, $11.50 for a book of 5 tickets, Free with Prospect Park Alliance Family Supporter membership or higher.
Celebrate the start of spring with a first ride of the year on the Park’s beloved 1912 carousel. Join the Alliance at the Family Supporter level and your family will receive unlimited rides on the Carousel for a full year!
