Jane’s Walk: Exploring Prospect Park’s East Side

Join Prospect Park Alliance and Turnstile Tours in partnership with the Municipal Art Society of New York for Jane’s Walk: Exploring Prospect Park’s East Side. For more than 150 years, Prospect Park has served as Brooklyn’s Backyard, a vital public space for recreation, gathering, and enjoying natural beauty. On this guided in-person walk, we will explore Prospect Park Alliance restoration projects along the eastern edge of the park that have improved access and amenities, including the restored perimeter and new entrances along Flatbush Ave, the restoration of the Carousel, and Lakeside, as well as projects in progress like the reimagined Vale and renovation of Lefferts Historic House. Along the way, we will take in the beauty of this iconic park’s woodlands, waterways, wildlife, and landmarks, and explore the fascinating layers of natural and human history, from the flora and geology, to the architectural eras visible in the built environment. This walk will last approximately 90 minutes.

RSVP is required and capacity is limited. Meeting location, ending location, and directions will be provided via email before walk date.
