Marianne Moore’s New Collected Poems
Notable authors gather to celebrate Marianne Moore’s New Collected Poems, a landmark edition of one of the major inventors of poetic modernism. Editor Heather Cass White joins Margo Jefferson, Timothy Donnelly, Maureen McLane and Eleanor Chai read their favorite Moore poems and discuss her impact of contemporary writers. Co-presented with Poetry Society of America, Farrar, Straus & Giroux and Prospect Park Alliance. This is a Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend Event.
Prior to the event, please join us at 6:30 pm at the Camperdown Elm in Prospect Park for a silent reading of Marianne Moore’s poem “The Camperdown Elm” commemorating the tree.
