West Side Story
Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams and Prospect Park Alliance present A Summer Movie Under the Stars in partnership with Brooklyn’s Nitehawk Cinema.
RSVP to let us know if you are coming!
On Wednesday, August 1, join us for a free, family-friendly screening of West Side Story (1961).
In this updated adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, Tony and Maria fall in love in 1950s New York. Inspired by the vibrant score and soundtrack, Skyline Salsa Band will get the audience on their feet with salsa numbers before the screening. Neighborhood partners will also provide onsite activities.
All musical entertainment will start at 7 p.m. and films begin shortly after sundown at Long Meadow North, located nearest to the Grand Army Plaza entrance at Eastern Parkway. The closest subway station is the Eastern Parkway Brooklyn Museum stop on the 2, 3, and 4 lines. There are no rain dates in the event of inclement weather.
Timeline:
6 pm: Pre-Movie Fun courtesy of our community partners
7 pm: Live Musical Entertainment
8:20 pm: Movie Begins
Also, visit the park on August 22 for the rain date screening of Alice in Wonderland!
