Join the Prospect Park Alliance for family-friendly activities at the Prospect Park Audubon Center and Lefferts Historic House on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Alliance Nature Programs
Prospect Park Audubon Center, Free

  • Blooming Naturalist, 1–2 pm: So you think you are a Naturalist? Join Alliance educators to make your own nature journal, learning how to use binoculars and field guides.
  • Nature on the Go! 2–3 pm: Join the Alliance to learn about the nature that is all around us. A naturalist leads children and families to areas near the Audubon Center to discover the flora and fauna in the Park.
  • Animal Encounter, 3–4 pm: Join Alliance educators to learn more about the animals in the Audubon Center's collection. Learn what it takes to care for these amazing creatures and even assist in an actual feeding.

Historic House Tours, 1–3:30 pm
Lefferts Historic House, $3 suggested donation

View significant artifacts from 19th century family life and walk into a fully furnished 1820s bedroom. Tours every half hour.

Freedom Songs and Stories with Tammy Hall, 2 + 3 pm
Lefferts Historic House, Free

Join us at the Lefferts Historic House this Martin Luther King Jr. Day for Freedom Songs and Stories with Tammy Hall. A masterful storyteller, Tammy Hall weaves together diverse tales from around the world to create a rich experience for all.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Tennis Program

Monday, January 19 , 1 pm – 4 pm

Geared for both adults and juniors, this popular clinic features a fast-paced station drill that focuses on specific skills, including serve & volley, ground strokes, approach shots and offense/defense strategies.  Players must register in advance.
