Tartuffe from Moliere in the Park
A bible-thumping shark
Makes a deal with a gullible mark.
Mix in money and power,
fleshly sins by the hour
And call it Molière in the Park!
If ever a play, written back in the day, knew exactly with what we’d be dealing.
It’s Tartuffe by Molière, 17th century fare, but the story is truly… revealing.
Join us in person and safely distanced, outside at Prospect Park’s LeFrak Center for our staged reading of TARTUFFE. It’s biting and funny, and so worth the money (j/k it’s totally free!). The New York Times called Molière in the Park’s 2020 Virtual Tartuffe “revolutionary.” With a diverse cast performing in a shimmering oasis under the stars, this in-person Tartuffe will be a celebratory leap into the spring theater season.
Co-presented with French Institute Alliance Française, in partnership with LeFrak Center at Lakeside and Prospect Park Alliance.
