Alfreda’s Cinema Black Earth, Living Memory Cinema Residency

Join Prospect Park Alliance and Alfreda’s Cinema for free film screenings in the yard of Lefferts Historic House. As part of the 2026 Open Air Film Festival, Black Earth, Living Memory, Alfreda’s Cinema will host a monthly summer residency at Lefferts Historic House, presenting site-responsive screenings that explore Black cultural memory, artistry, and historical presence. Programs include Brooklyn Boheme, Chocolate Babies, A Night with James Baldwin, and pioneering works by Oscar Micheaux—including Ten Minutes to Live, presented with a live vinyl score by JADALAREIGN—as well as Def by Temptation.
