Community Day of Cycling in Prospect Park
Join Prospect Park Alliance, Park Slope Civic Council, Bike New York, Kissena Cycling Club, New York Cycling Club, CM Hanif Workers Justice Project, 78th Precinct, NYPD, Good Neighbors of Park Slope, Transportation Alternatives, Bike New York and NYP Methodist for a family-friendly and educational afternoon of fun at our Community Day of Cycling in Prospect Park! Whether you’re new to cycling, a delivery worker, a parent, or a seasoned commuter—this event has something for everyone.
RSVP to join the Community Day of Cycling in Prospect Park! Please note that some rides require registration on a separate Eventbrite or form, linked below, to secure a spot. All activities and rides will meet at the Bartel Pritchard Entrance to Prospect Park (15th Street and Prospect Park West).

Plus, kick off the community day of cycling with a “Rules of the Road” class on Zoom on Wednesday, May 28 for adults and mature teens to better understand the rules of the road. Register to join the “Rules of the Road” class.

Children’s Learn-to-Ride Workshop – 2:30–4:30 PM
Join a learn-to-ride workshop for children learning to ride a bike for the first time. Please note that registration with Bike New York is required to join this ride and that bikes and helmets are not provided. Parents/Guardians must provide your child’s bike and helmet and a parent or guardian must remain with the child for the duration of the ride.
Bike New York will have preregistration available 10 days in advance. A waiver is also required and will be sent by Bike New York after registration.

Adult Group Ride – 2 – 4 pm
Join a guided casual-paced group ride with a community focus around Prospect Park and Prospect Park West. Learn safe riding routes, etiquette and protocol for respectful cycling in the park. Please note that registration with Kissena Cycling is required to join this ride and that bikes and helmets are not provided.
There will be three sessions with 20 spots each. Please make sure to arrive 10 minutes before ride time.
