Lefferts Open Hours
Visit the Lefferts Historic House for family-friendly outdoor and indoor exhibits, activities, workshops, and special programs that explore the legacies of resistance and resilience of the Indigenous peoples of Lenapehoking, whose unceded lands the park and house rests upon, and the Africans enslaved by the Lefferts family.
This season, ReImagine Lefferts debuts a compelling lineup of new and ongoing programming bridging Brooklyn’s revolutionary history with its legacies of resilience. New highlights include The Shirley Chisholm Way: Brooklyn’s Blueprint for Change exhibit, celebrating the local icon’s enduring impact, alongside Battle of Brooklyn immersive tours, exhibits and reenactments.
Visitors can also experience vital ongoing installations, including Ehaptoonáakanal: Voices of Lunáapeew/Lenape, honoring 400 years of Indigenous endurance, and Ancestral Whispers by inaugural Artist in Residence Adama Delphine Fawundu—a powerful work featuring 25 fabric banners that honor the heroism of the 25 African individuals enslaved by the Lefferts family.
