Mid-Winter Recess
Join Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs for Mid-Winter Recess at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.
Nature Around Us, 12–4 pm: Explore seasonal discovery stations and nature themed activities that will introduce you to the plants, insects and animals that call the park home.
Pinecone Bird Feeders, 12–3 pm: Help support our Backyard birds during the scarce winter. By making a vegetarian version of Suet, a nutritious substitute for wintering birds that rely on insects for food. This activity takes approximately 30 minutes.*Allergy Warning: contains nuts.*
Winter Wilderness Walk, 3–4 pm: Curious about animal tracks in the snow, how trees survive without leaves, or how bugs stay warm? Join an Alliance Naturalist for a tour of how plants and animals live in the winter months. This program will be suspended in the event of unsafe weather conditions.
