Nature Exploration: Lake Appreciation

Join the Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation. Visitors will learn about Prospect Park’s watercourse and observe our underwater invertebrates up close using magnifying glasses.

Pond Water Sampling, 10–12 pm: Did you know that an entire community of living insects, plants and animals makes the Lullwater their home? Get a closer view with one of our Naturalists.

Animal Encounter, 11 am–12 pm: Get up close with Prospect Park Audubon’s fascinating water-dwelling creatures like turtles and fish. Learn fun facts about their habitats, adaptations and roles in the ecosystem.

Nature on the Go! 12–1 pm: Enjoy a nature walk along Brooklyn’s only Lake and help lend a hand to your park by removing litter along the way.
