Join Prospect Park Alliance for a film screening Clear Day Thunder: Rescuing the American Chestnut, and a discussion of the reforestation of Prospect Park including the American chestnut.
Documentary Screening – 6:15 – 7:25 pm: Watch a screening of the documentary Clear Day Thunder: Rescuing the American Chestnut, presented by the American Chestnut Foundation. This film explores the story of passionate citizen scientists and researchers working to restore the American Chestnut.
Post-Film Discussion – 7:30 – 8 pm: Enjoy a post-film discussion with Alliance volunteer, Bart Chezar and Prospect Park Alliance Deputy Director, Landscape Management, Mary Keehbauch to learn more about the work being done in Prospect Park and in Brooklyn to restore the American Chestnut, as well as the Alliance’s reforestation efforts and work to sustain, maintain and restore Prospect Park’s Forest for generations to come.
