On October 17, the Prospect Park Alliance held its annual Gala at the Samuel J. and Ethel LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park. This year, this spirited celebration of Brooklyn’s backyard honored two longtime Alliance Board Members, Albert H. Garner and Leslie L. Beller, for their extraordinary dedication to the Park.

More than 450 people attended the event, which raised more than $850,000 to support the Alliance’s work to preserve and maintain Prospect Park. The Alliance provides a majority of the staff and operating budget for the Park; caring for the natural environment, restoring historic design, creating new amenities and providing public programs for the Park’s millions of visitors each year.
