Wilbur A. Levin Award

Bill Levin was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Prospect Park Alliance. He was a consummate gentleman whose professionalism, warmth, and wit graced the Board for 18 years. Bill worked actively to help bring about the Park’s resurgence, working as Secretary of the Board and helping recruit new directors.

Bill was also involved in a number of other Brooklyn cultural and charitable institutions, including the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Law School, the Brooklyn Hospital, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Bill was a true booster of the borough of Brooklyn and a model of civic involvement and responsibility.

When Bill Levin died in April 2005, the Alliance established the Wilbur A. Levin Award in his memory. Given annually to an employee, volunteer or donor, the award recognizes those who have made a significant contribution not only to the Alliance, but also to the good of the greater Brooklyn community.
