Join a committed group of volunteers that work alongside Prospect Park Alliance gardeners in “EcoZones” to keep Brooklyn’s Backyard green and vibrant.
EcoZone Volunteer Crew

Thursdays, 9:30 am–12 pm (EcoZone 5)
At the EcoZone Open Houses + in the EcoZone Volunteer Crew, volunteers will work on important forest restoration and landscape improvements: helping to remove invasive plants; plant new trees, shrubs and groundcover, maintain trails, and tackle tree care to support our urban forest.
Recruitment for the coming season is in two of our zones:
- EcoZone 3: Willink Plaza (Flatbush Avenue at Empire Boulevard) to Parkside
- EcoZone 5: 10th Avenue Entrance to 16th Street Entrance
Attend an upcoming EcoZone Volunteer Crew Open House, taking place every Thursday from August 1–October 24 to volunteer in the park, learn more about the program and to meet our dedicated team of EcoZone Gardeners.
Please note that the EcoZone Volunteer Crew is an eight-month program, and volunteers must commit to attending at least 2 sessions each month.
