Upcoming Programs are appropriate for groups, teens and adults:

Held every September, International Coastal Cleanup engages the community to clean up our  beaches and waterways while identifying and documenting types of debris found. Join Prospect Park Alliance in this year’s effort by helping to clean the Prospect Park lakeshore. All litter that is removed will be recorded and included in the international totals. Join the worldwide event!

Park Pitch In – National Public Lands Day – Sunday, September 25, 10 am–1 pm
Parkside Avenue & Ocean Avenue Entrance, Free, Registration Required
Established in 1994 and held annually on the fourth weekend in September, National Public Lands Day is traditionally the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort. It celebrates the connection between people and green space in their community, inspires environmental stewardship, and encourages use of open space for education, recreation, and health benefits. Join Prospect Park Alliance as we support Brooklyn’s backyard in a day of stewardship along the southern section of the Lake! Tasks may include path edging, weeding, tree bed care and more!

Park Pitch In – City of Forest Day  – Saturday, October 15, 10 am–1 pm
Lookout Hill – 16th Street and Prospect Park Southwest, Free, Registration Required
Join Prospect Park Alliance for a special Park Pitch-In volunteer event on City of Forest Day, a citywide effort to raise awareness for our urban forest. In Prospect Park, we’ll be focusing our efforts on Lookout Hill, a scenic woodland restored by Prospect Park Alliance that lies on the park’s highest point, with views as far as Coney Island. Volunteers will help pick up trash and litter that can harm this important wildlife habitat, as well as  maintaining trails and pedestrian paths, as well as weeding and other woodland restoration activities. This event is suitable for teens 14+ and Adults.
