Park Pitch In: World Biodiversity Day

Children’s Corner, Free, Registration Required
World Biodiversity Day is a United Nations-sanctioned international day for the promotion of biodiversity issues. In Prospect Park, invasive plant species are a common threat to our urban ecosystem, outcompeting our native flora and impacting local fauna. Join Prospect Park Alliance as we focus our efforts on removing garlic mustard, a common invasive species that impacts park trees. Volunteers will help remove the plant before the seeds can spread further by either digging it out or cutting off and disposing of the seeds. Volunteers may also help with other activities, such as litter removal, path edging, and more.
Appropriate for teens and adults.
