Woodland Youth Crew Video
Since 1997, high school students have been instrumental in helping the Prospect Park Alliance restore Prospect Park’s nearly 200 acres of fragile woodlands; Brooklyn’s only forest. By countering erosion, removing invasive vegetation, and planting native plants, the Woodlands Youth Crew has given new life to some of the most damaged areas in the Park. In addition to making the Park a more beautiful place to visit, they have made the Park’s woodlands more sustainable and a better habitat for a wide range of wildlife.
