Tarrus Riley with Dean Fraser and the Black Soil Band, as well as Mwenso & The Shakes will both perform at the Bandshell as part of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, presented in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance.
Tarrus Riley, the son of the late, beloved ska and rocksteady star Jimmy Riley and “one of the most accomplished of the second generation of Jamaica roots reggae singers,” (Jamaica Gleaner) belts out love songs and black history lessons with equal passion. Mwenso & the Shakes’ members hail from across the globe but all call Harlem home; they put on an electrifying show The New York Times calls “intense, prowling, and ebullient.”
Gates open an hour before the performance unless otherwise noted, and all performances are rain or shine. For the latest information, including weather updates, set times, seating configurations, and FAQs, please visit the BRIC website.
