Halloween Haunted Walk & Carnival

Saturday, October 25 , 12 pm – 3 pm, 2014

 

Ghouls and goblins lurk behind the trees, ready to provide a silly scare, at the Prospect Park Alliance’s annual Haunted Walk. After some thrills and chills, head over to the carnival, featuring fun games for children, pony rides and more! More than a dozen food trucks will offer sweet and savory treats.

Halloween Skeleton Cut Outs and Scary Stories

Saturday, October 25 , 1 pm – 4 pm, 2014

Join the Prospect Park Alliance to make your own scary headdress using traditional paper-cutting techniques, then join storyteller Tammy Hall at 2 pm for scary tales told in the Village of Flatbush 200 years ago.

Lefferts Historic House Tours

Join the Prospect Park Alliance at Lefferts Historic House to view interesting relics from 19th-century family life, and explore a fully furnished 1820s bedroom. Also view A Stitch In Time Saves Nine, an exhibition of textiles and costume from the Lefferts collection, which highlights the handwork of women in the textiles arts and the progression to industrialized clothing and textiles. Many of the objects are on display for the first time at Lefferts.

Tours every half hour.

Prospect Park Zoo

The Wildlife Conservation Society’s host its annual, family-friendly Halloween extravaganza. Festivities include costumes, arts and crafts, and treats for the animals. Highlights include the popular “Spooky Barn” with requisite scary creatures and not-so-scary animals to pet and feed. No Halloween celebration is complete without bats, and the Zoo’s nocturnal exhibit provides the perfect setting for a dark and creepy look into the world of these fascinating flying creatures of the night.
