Figure 8 Play-Date

Join WNET’s Kids Club THIRTEEN for fun on the ice with your favorite characters! The Figure 8 Play-Dates are best suited for children ages 2 to 8 and will feature a character meet and greet, as well as arts and crafts. Previous Figure 8 Play-Dates have featured Curious George, Daniel Tiger, Arthur, Super Why and Princess Presto. Characters will be announced in early January, 2015. Learn more.

The Lower East Side Ecology Center is bringing its annual "After the Holidays" E-waste event to Prospect Park to help you responsibly dispose of all of your unwanted or broken gadgets. Spread the word to your friends and neighbors. Visit the center's website to view a list of acceptable items.

Birding: Winter Birds

New York City is home to an amazing abundance of wildlife. Urban Park Rangers will guide you to the best wildlife viewing spots in the urban jungle. The Rangers offer birding programs throughout the year and are appropriate for all skill levels - beginners are welcome. Enjoy learning about the birds that call New York City parks home for the winter months. The tour will begin promptly at 11 am, and tours may vary in length.
